TikTok teams up with WHO
The World Health Organization (WHO) and TikTok’s partnership can be seen as a meaningful round in the adjustment of the dispersal of health-related false information on the social platform. For instance, in future, working with Fides group of over 800 health professionals, Fides vouch that TikTok will foster sound content including health information which is rapidly being refuted especially regarding vaccines that most likely would work. And heal such negative feelings.
In the first phase of the initiative, Fides creators will be involved from the USA, Spain, France and Brazil among other countries, in communicating analytic and data-driven trends in health. This comes after distressing trends that were witnessed amid and post COVID 19 period where disinformation flourished on the internet.
Cited previously, TikTok also made a $3 million donation for the purpose of funding initiatives related to health promotion by WHO. Most importantly, with the principle of clear cut in Fides Group, there will be no propagation of false statements that jeopardize public health campaigns; rather young people will be informed about the health issues trends.
Recognizing that social media will continue to have a significant impact in influencing the public’s understandings of the notion of health, it goes how this partnership could work to such avenues and assist with the spread of healthy information while eliminating myths. Can be utilized.
